Once upon a time, A man decided to go and hunt for a crocodile. He woke up in the morning and he yawned and he stretched, (yawns) and he kissed his wife goodbye. (kissing) He went through the gate, (creaking) and he walked along the track, he went through the long grass. (swishing) And he went over the bridge, and he went up the hill. Right to the top! He could just see his wife way down below! So he cooeed to her: ‘Cooee!’ She didn’t hear you: ‘Cooee!’ Oh, much better! And he went down the other side of the hill. And he came to a river… (splashing) He swam across the river. Swim, swim, swim, swim! And then he saw… a crocodile! He called out for help! ‘Help!’ And he swam back across the river! Yay! Now I wanted to tell you, that’s got really strange words in it. If you’re not familiar with those words, the words are: ‘Don we now our gay apparel’. That’s really strange, I wonder what that means? This is an old English Christmas carol, and that means, put on your favourite and best clothes, Don we now our gay apparel! And the other strange line is ‘Troll the ancient Yuletide carol!’ I wonder what that means? That means… To bring out and sing really loudly, your very favourite Christmas carol!
