July 2016’s Rhyme of the Month: “Swimming With The Sharks”

Welcome to the Enoch Pratt Free Library State Library Resource Center’s Handy Dandy Rhymes. Our rhyme for this month is “Swimming with the Sharks.” It’s a rap song about maybe why you don’t want to go swimming with the sharks. Going swimming, bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Here comes mama shark. Going swimming, bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Well mama shark didn’t eay any breakfast, and she just ate off one of our arms. Can we still go swimming with just one arm? Sure we can, of course we can. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Uh oh here comes daddy shark. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Well daddy shark didn’t eat any breakfast either, so we’ve lost both our arms. Can we still go swimming with no arms? Sure we can, of course we can. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Uh, here comes little itty bitty baby shark. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Well, he might be tiny, but guess what? He just ate off one of our legs. Can we still go swimming? Sure we can, of course we can. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Uh, here comes grammie shark. She doesn’t even have any teeth. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. We’re going swimming bite bite bite bite. Well she might not have any teeth, but she just gummed off our other leg. And do you know what those sharks say to us as they are swimming away? Thanks for lunch. Yum yum yum yum. Thanks for lunch. Yum yum yum yum. And that’s why you don’t want to go swimming with the sharks. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
