Let The Daughter Fly by Aishwarya Basu | English Poetry | Blossom of Poetry

Sons and Daughters are born out of the same womb of a mother. The son is the torch bearer and the daughter became the burden? I have never really understood the rational. Even if the daughter does her best and competes with the son. The family and the society would stop her from taking that step. She is not allowed to face her shortcomings. She is not allowed to prioritise her life. She has to abide by the set rules of society. Yet she is blamed for everything that has
gone wrong. She is raped, humiliated and blamed. Do our daughters deserve only this? Do we deserve only a candlelight march after every incident? A daughter doesn’t need a comparison or
competition. She can be who she is and still conquer the world. So, give her wings and set her free
Let her fly and live in peace.
