Sleek Machine | POEM | Kids’ Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen

sleek machine Our car is smooth a sleek machine prowling the street like a wolf on wheels at night it sits beneath the lamp its headlights watching the buses pass but in the dark we know not when some mean truck must have backed backed up and crashed crunched the side of the sleek machine in one second flat under cover of the night it must have read and slipped away leaving our car a wreck the door is twisted like someone chewed it where it was smooth like a painted egg now it’s wrinkled rucked like a paper bag someone screwed up and chucked
