Spoken Word Poetry – I KNOW THAT SHE’S THE ONE – Poem about love

How the fuck can I let her go, when I know
that she’s the one? I’m supposed to be a single guy, but that’s
a lie, because I’m spoken for. There’s an ex-girlfriend , not even a friend,
but she’s still the one that I’m hoping for Don’t know how many times I’ve made up
my mind and said to myself she’s not worth it But then a week without contact goes by, I re-die inside, remember I’m hurting How the fuck can I let her go, when I know that she’s the one? I’m supposed to be a grown man, my son growing
up by my side looking up to me like, damn. What kind of an example is set for him, when
my mind is set on restarting an old beginning? Being a good parent means I simply cannot
drink this pain away from me Being a good dad means my boy shouldn’t
see a female has devastated me But how the fuck can I let her go, when I
know that she is the one? So I do go out and I do meet girls and sometimes
we sleep together But as soon as it’s over, I’m dressed
and I’m out and I knew that it wasn’t too clever I don’t feel guilty. I do feel used. Acting like this is reason to avoid booze. But I can’t have the life I want, it’s
not for me to choose. But how the fuck can I let her go, when I
know that she’s the one?
