Spoken Word Poetry – One Of Those Men – Poem about a love affair

So… It happened again. I was doing my own thing,
Happily relaxing, and then. There she was. She took a crowbar to my mind, opened it up and climbed inside. I let it happen, because I’m one of those
men. She pulled me right in and was so tempting. A real temptress. Like a mistress of seduction. If I knew then, what I know now, would I have
stopped it from happening? Who am I kidding? I’m one of those men. So, when we exchanged numbers, and night after
night, spent hours and hours in conversation, I should have known better. I should never have let her, lead me down
the garden path, Without at least having first asked, our final destination. But I’m one of those men. I’m impatient. I should not have been surprised, when before
my very eyes. The dangers of this whirlwind romance materialized. When she was showering, her phone rang. And the text across the screen read ‘husband’. So she’s one of those women. I’m still one of those men. And this was one of those things that make
the world spin…
