The Enchanted River – Mystical Clear Blue Waters

The Hinatoan River is a deep spring river on the island of Mindanao This enchanted river has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. It earned its moniker enchanted River after being described in a poem written by the Diplomat Modesto Farolan. The enchanted river is a magical stretch of water meandering 648 meters between the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean the waters are so crystal clear and bright blue that it could easily be mistaken for a location from a fantasy movie like Avatar The surface of the water is typically calm and peaceful and this combined with the impressive clarity of the bright blue water gives this place an unreal magical quality In one of the rivers lagoons, the part of the river that everyone comes to take photos of is a deep dark hole which goes down 80 feet The deep hole leads into a subterranean cave system exploration of the caves has continued to this day but remains largely unmapped Which further adds to the mystique of this wondrous place Another somewhat mysterious aspect of the enchanted river is where do all of its fish come from? Many of the fish here are large enough to actually make swimmers nervous and it is not exactly known how these saltwater species got here The fish are a popular attraction Especially during the daily feeding times that take place here Every day at noon a bell is rung Which is the signal for all swimmers to exit the water? When everyone is out a tune called the hymn of Hinatoan is played over loudspeakers Upon which a large school of fish seemed to materialize out of nowhere on cue Staff members then throw rice, minced meat, shrimp, octopus, and other scraps of food into the water This keeps up for about an hour during which time no one is allowed to enter the water When the feeding time is over the vast number of fish proceed to simply vanish as if they were never there The river is rich in folklore and tales The pristine blue water is said to be kept clean and cleared by various spirits, fairies Pixies and other mystical creatures which also act as guardians of the river The spirits are said to be most active at night and that they will attack or chase away Anyone who comes to bathe here after dark with many inexplicable drownings in the river being blamed on these supernatural entitie This superstition is so strong and pervasive that the river is Off-limits after dark and even during the day some areas are not accessible Probably just for the visitors safety, but some say because the river spirits are especially aggressive in those areas While tales of fairies and spirits are quite possibly pure folklore and superstition the very source of the river itself has long been somewhat of a mystery as the question of how it manages to remain so impeccably clear and free of any silt whatsoever One suggestion is the water is filtering through limestone Which would remove impurities and produce the crystal-clear water, but the true reason remains a mystery I hope they never answer the many questions surrounding this mystical place as it adds to the overall charm and mystique of the enchanted River Anyway, that’s the end of this video. Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you next time. Bye. Bye

  1. This is so delightful and looks like something out of a fairy tale. Thank you for sharing this!
Please, I echo "a hamster"'s plea: Let us keep it clean and precious. If we do not take care of
our planet and creatures, we will go down, too! Maybe the nature spirits really DO protect it,
and it is a lesson not to muck up crystal clear, marvelous waters or our planet altogether.

  2. Nothing magical about it, it’s God’s creation and His work is miraculous not magical…

  3. There's so much beauty in our planet. Let us all take good care of it as if it were our very own garden.

  4. These river systems flow outwards from the vast pristine oceans within inner earth.. This is where the fish are from also. This is why they are so huge in comparison to the same species we have in our oceans.. Everything in inner earth is massive in size. From the fruit the trees the fish the plants the animals the people everything!! They have everything we have up here and much more because they love, and respect their world . Our. Environment will grow in stature when our conciousness grows also to allow it.. We only have the mountains and the redwoods left to remind us of this. If we keep killing and destroying our planet we will be left with only death and destruction.. why would you be rewarded for this type of thinking and living?? We will receive abundance when we love and respect what we have now..Remember!! Each time we kill something in our world a piece of us dies along with it .. If you want life!! Then learn to love.. And yes! These waters carry very high healing energies for the planet within it also..

  5. The 2 legged animal, human, is capable of destroying everything beautiful.

  6. The end of another magical place, thanks to an upload on you tube, thanks a fucking lot

  7. Fact; Most of our oceans pollution comes from ten rivers, eight in Africa and two in Asia!!! Get ahold of that and the world would be a much better place! But the corrupt scumbags in governments only care about money and power over the people!!!

  8. The river is blue because I had to pee while drinking a tropical Powerade bottle.

  9. logical.. in the night the predators comin up from the cave system and the floor of the river.. night active predators etc… like in the ocean..

  12. Reminds me of 47 meters uncaged . The river spirits are great white sharks lol that's why they attack at night.

  13. There's a river similar to this in southern Spain. It's not very well known but it used to be popular with naturists gorge walking. It's so clear and beautiful and is claimed to be so because of the fluorescent properties of the rocks

  14. Could be lime stone filtering out the silt looks blue like water in old mines water filters in through the rock into abandoned mine shaftsπŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έlooks awesome and amazingπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

  19. Really people. How do fish fish tanks stay so clean? The system or river is not just a pool of water . It has flow that mixed with with bacteria will do the job . Amonia – nitrate – nitrites = plant food and happy eco system .

  20. Not only an amazing river, but also a cave underneath. Two wonders in one!

  32. I remember when I went here back in 2012 I was 9 back then. I loved that you could see clown fish all the way down.

  33. I thought it looked like a shark in the thumbnail. It would be a cool painting. A shark with aqua skin.

  34. I've been there 2yrs ago but they stop people swimming in the deepest portion of the site anymore.

  35. What a wonderful place to burn a Doobie πŸŒ±βœŒοΈβ€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

  36. We have many rivers like this in northwest central Florida. Weeki Wachee, Homosassa, Crystal River, Rainbow River and of course the unparalleled Ichtucknee River north of Gainesville. All spring fed. All as clear as this for either all or for most of their runs. And these rivers aren't 700m long, rather miles long!!!

  37. Currently, it is forbidden to have people swim on the Enchanted River. There are stories that some people vanished from swimming. It has believed that they've been spirited away. Or they just literally got drowned.

  38. Leave the Nature alone.. Humans will invade every clean place and make it dirty….

  39. From what we've experienced, you will surely be amazed by the river's beauty.
But you guys might get disappointed by how the locals runs the beautiful place..
1st: if you got a car, once you arrive at the place, you have to park your car far from the exact place. Not to mention u have to pay for the parking.
2nd: deep dive no more. They never allow anyone to swim in the most exciting part of the river but only in the shallow parts..
3rd: foods are too expensive..doesn't even have much of choices. The bad part of eating there, you have to pay for the table which is suppose to be free.
4th: the staff are not nice. Sure the place have their rules and stuff. But the staff don't execute the rules politely.the worst part is they show their customers some bad attitudes.
So if ever you plan on going in this place..consider this comment..
